Raleigh St. Augustine

Released in 1980 Raleigh St. Augustine is medium green in color, cold tolerant, SAD virus resistant and offers better shade tolerance than Floratam St. Augustine. Raleigh offers dense ground coverage and thrives in sunny and/or moderately shaded areas. It is the most commonly grown and used variety of St. Augustine in the State of Texas.

Floratam St. Augustine

A collaboration between University of Florida and Texas A&M University in the 1970s, Floratam St. Augustine is a hardy and coarse textured grass with wide and long blades. Floratam is one of the most chinch bug and SAD virus resistant varieties of St. Augustine. It also offers excellent resistance to other insects and diseases. Floratam is one of the most drought tolerant varieties of St. Augustine and does well in full sun and/or partial shade.
